Noh mask from classical Japanese dance theatre. The mask represents Aizen Myo deity.
Aizen Myo-o (also known as Ragaraja) is one of the "Eight Wisdom Kings". He personifies the divine love that destroys the malignant passions. Aizen Myo transforms worldly lust into spiritual awakening.
He is portrayed as a red-skinned man with a fearsome appearance, a flaming wild hair that represents suppressed lust and passion, and a lion´s head on top of his head. There are two, four or six armed incarnations of him but the six-armed one is the most common.
Mask is made of resin coated and ready for painting; supports any kind of paint. Easy to repair. 19 cm height.
