Noh mask from classical Japanese dance theatre. Ko-Omote (literally, "little face") conveys the beauty of a girl not yet twenty. The mask shows a young girl with neatly combed hair, shaved eyebrows and cheeks.
There are more than twenty other masks for female roles, each varying subtly from the innocence of this mask to convey sensuous, passionate, demented, or supernatural characteristics.
